Arriving at Your Stay
Before you book
- Check-in date must be at least 7 days from today
- Same-day and last-minute bookings under 7 days are not accepted
- Ensure your balance payment is made within 24 hours of booking confirmation or your reservation will lapse
Before arrival
- Confirm your arrival time with the host via messages
- Save your access instructions from your booking details
- Plan your route and confirm parking arrangements
- Check the local load shedding schedule for your area
Common check-in methods
- Security complex with guard: present your booking confirmation
- Self check-in with key safe: code will be shared by host
- Meet and greet: coordinate arrival time with host in advance
- Smart lock access: PIN shared closer to your arrival date
On arrival
- Lock all doors and gates behind you
- Locate WiFi details (usually on a card or board inside)
- Test essentials: hot water, lights, internet connection
- Confirm backup power setup if relevant
First-night checklist
- Confirm security and alarm information with host
- Confirm gate and parking procedures
- Save host and Hoplocation support contact numbers
- Keep house rules handy for your group
If something goes wrong
- Contact your host immediately via the Hoplocation messages
- Keep all communication in writing
- Document any issues with photos or videos
- Contact Hoplocation support if the issue is not resolved by the host
